Great leggings! Inexpensive, waterproof and durable

I am a bow hunter and the gaiters that most hunting companies sell are very expensive and not always of good quality. There's really no need to mask the ankles, so I looked for a cheaper alternative. These leggings are awesome! They are made out of very durable material and I can see they will last quite a while. Gaiters should be looked at by anyone who hunts or hikes and I highly recommend them. Boots are never truly waterproof, but gaiters can be waterproof and offer solid protection against water, dirt, and leaves getting into your shoes. I live in the Pacific Northwest so I was able to test the water resistance right away. Without spats, my boots got wet and my feet got wet and wet all day while hunting in the rain. With them I have walked through wet fields, river crossings and rainy days without getting wet feet. I also really like the attachment systems. The Velcro is thick and I love that they have a strap at the top because gaiters that rely solely on Velcro tend to fail fairly quickly in my experience. The bottom loop that runs under the boot is also very stiff. It's difficult to set up but I actually think it's a good idea because you only really have to set it up once and the clasp seems very strong. I rated it 4 stars because I really only have one complaint. You're pretty loud when you hit things (including yourself when your feet meet). This may not be a problem for most, but since I mainly use them for hunting, it means I have to be extra careful with animals. I wasn't expecting them to be quiet, but the rip-stop pattern makes them almost sandpaper-like, which can bother casual hikers and is definitely not ideal for me. I still use them and I highly recommend them because you can still walk carefully and be silent.
