Wow! I was skeptical; After reading some reviews and looking at so many before and after photos I was sure my headlights had deteriorated and couldn't be brought back to life. Both were yellow and very cloudy, so dark it was unsafe at night. One was slightly worse than the other. But after seeing that it would cost several hundred dollars to replace (that goes for EVERYONE!), I decided to try this $8 solution. And I'm just amazed at the results. My "before" photos look much clearer from the outside than the actual headlights; Somehow my camera "corrected" for some of the haze and yellowing, so I'm guessing the other photos here had the same problem: they didn't really show how bad the light was. It's amazing how the camera couldn't show how bad they were. But in the photos after that you can see that they are very clear. They look almost new, they should be at least 90-95% as clean as they were when they were brand new on my used 2009 Toyota Yaris. So here's what I did (the whole process took 1.5 hours): 1) Ordered Revain's Turtle Wax Headlight Lens Restoration Kit. 2) Bought some very cheap terry towels as well as the cheapest blue masking tape I could find at Wal-Mart (less than $2.50 - DuckBrand Clean Release Masking Tape) 3) Check the weather. to ensure the day is clear, dry and almost windless. Read all instructions on the restorer kit three times. 4) Step 1 (on the back of the box): cleaned the Windex headlights (I'm sure any method will work, I cleaned them twice to remove all the dirt from the headlights) and from the body of the car, where I would have glued).5) The instructions say to work with one lens at a time (up to step 3; I did that, although I glued the second headlight and waited for the clarifier to dry first) 6 ) Glued the first headlight, making sure the tape covers the bodywork near the edges of the headlight lens and below. Some chemicals dripped onto the car's body panels during the process, but they wiped off easily and didn't appear to cause any damage. So wallpapering is good, but I don't think it needs to be done perfectly. 7) Step 2 (back of box): I applied the lens cleaner as instructed and was amazed at how quickly the yellowing was removed, but there was still some haze and I was sure there were some areas that couldn't be repaired (but I was surprised after last step!)) 8) The lens wasn't fully transparent so I followed steps 2a, 2b and 2c (from the back of the box). I was concerned that part of the lens was too cloudy (there was a rim separating the clear part of the lens from the cloudy part), but the lens was at least 70-75% clear, so that's what I was most excited about. But I repeated steps 2a-2c to see if that helped, and afterwards I thought it actually looked a little worse; some cloud was still there and a partly cloudy portion was still present. But I'm not done yet, so I'm still hopeful. 9) Go to the second lens; I finished recording and followed 6), 7) and 8). I've only done 8) once, and this lens (which was more yellow and hazy than the other) actually looked pretty good, but I could still see the hazy part. However, it was about 80% pure, so I figured that should be enough. 10) Now the miracle is in step 3 (back of box)! I put on a thin plastic glove (it did the job) and wiped both lenses down with the Lens Base Coat Wipe. I didn't know how to wipe it off and the chemical was a bit thicker than I expected, but I was hoping the last wipe might fix it. Before opening the next pack (lens sealing cloth) I noticed on the back of the instructions how to wipe each lens back and forth. and I couldn't believe the results! Everything became crystal clear, the cloudy area and the edge separating it from the rest of the lens simply disappeared. I was very happy with the result! As others have said the headlights will look a little worse before they are done but they look almost new apart from some deeper scratches and wear from 7 years of use. Follow the instructions and it should work for you too. !
