This speaker was purchased to replace my 13 year old jaw that was on the verge of breaking. I recognized the Altec Lansing name because they were the speakers that came with my old 486 Gateway 2000 computer - those systems that came in black and white cow print boxes. As such, this speaker comes in a thick plastic case with the AL logo showcasing this great product as if it were being sold at a nationwide electronics store. When I took it out of the box, the first thing I noticed about handling the speaker was the thick black shockproof rubber strap that was over-molded. Dynamics. Shortly after pressing the power button, this button lights up with color-changing LEDs along with the other button icons and the two front mini-woofers. Great Scott! This isn't a boring portable speaker, it's a futuristic back-to-the-future LED gem. So this was the best time to toss your jawbone in the trash or whatever I called awesome in my title and replace it with this portable speaker that you can charge up and take outside to record my 1980s- enjoy hairband playlists.
