We had a similar dog backpack for years that we loved and used all the time but it was time to give up because it was starting to tear. This bag was a great replacement and we have used it for many months since purchasing it. We love taking our 9 pound Chihuahua mix with us when we travel, hike or bike and a backpack like this is a must. Sometimes he doesn't like being there, but I think he'd say he'd rather be at home or with a nanny. He's super excited when we unpack the bag because he knows there's an adventure ahead and jumps right in! It's very breathable, the side pockets are very comfortable and I love the ability to fold the top flap up/down. One aspect I would like to change is that the top zipper is a single zipper that only moves in one direction. So if we want our pup to be able to stick his head out of the top, we have to open the top all the way and then he is not completely safe. Our other bag had a double zipper which allowed us to open just the front of the bag a little so he could stick his head out but still stay securely inside. So when we use this bag, our pup has to be completely inside, with the top closed, which he doesn't like very much!
