Review on Timeless Vintage Backpack for College: Laptop and Bookbags Combo by Stephanie Lum

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Spacious and comfortable - Amenities rather poor

Pros: - Lots of space for a laptop, a few books and a change of clothes. Simple overnight trips are fine, but I wouldn't take more than two nights. The front pockets are large enough to pack extra cords, toiletries, etc. They're a bit tight at the moment, but when they're broken you can stuff them decently. Stretch Side Pockets - Slightly stretches to fit my blender bottle. Few bags in this style have pockets as stretchy while still maintaining the look of something more fashionable than too sporty/athletic. Comfortable straps. A bit harsh, but maybe I just need to get used to it. The adapter cables (for the battery and for the headphones) are detachable and easy to reattach. You can then use better quality cables and the problem will be fixed (more on that below). The inner sleeve (used for laptops/tablets) holds its shape very well, allowing me to fit papers, magazines and anything that needs to stay flat. . I tested it with a stack of paper and some spiral bound magazines and they held up with a laptop and other items on top. Cons: - Magnetic clips are not as accurate and snap easily. Perhaps the magnetism could be a little stronger or the locking holes could be adjusted. The cables for charging the portable battery and the headphone adapter are definitely weaker. The portable battery cable works, but when I tested it on my phone I noticed a difference in charging times (phone straight from the battery vs with the included adapter). It was 20 minutes straight into my phone. Connected to the adapter, 50 minutes passed. So it's a bit of personal preference whether you want it to charge faster or not, but I don't see myself using an adapter and just plug my phone straight into the battery. The headphone adapter was almost unusable. It's possible the cable is defective, but it kept breaking, and the connector itself is probably defective. The idea is good, but in reality, if someone wants to change the song, they have to open the backpack, find the phone, change the song, and put the phone back in the backpack. It seems to me too unnecessary to actually use. The cable is easily removed, however, but again, the cable itself was very problematic. Overall: Definitely a worthwhile purchase, especially for the price (I paid $23 at the time of writing this review). I'm comfortable on my back (the straps need to be broken in) and I really appreciate the elasticated side pockets. The capacity is perfect for short stays or shopping while traveling. Note that the included cables aren't as good and are more a matter of personal preference. Being able to charge the battery is more realistic (eliminating the need to hold the battery or dangling it from your pocket) and using the headphone jack isn't very beneficial (unless you want your MP# player/ keep your phone in your backpack). I will update the water resistance and trip results when I go on a short trip.
