It certainly carries all my equipment if I need it all (Nikon d5200, 3 lens, a telephoto, speedflash, filters and other smalls) plus my 15.6 laptop, but is a uncomfortable after a short while, in comparison to other heavy backpacks I've had. It is extremely rigid, and a but bulky as expected, and seems very water resistant. The hard shell seems to protect against most everyday and light hiking drops, but certainly doubt it would do well going down small rock ledges like a pelican case would, and seems more of a "illusion of security." All around OK travel pack, probably not suitable to hold much hiking gear though for outdoors enthusiasts.
