I actually bought this to connect a 3G modem to my router as the router's USB port is already occupied by an external 2.5" hard drive. In my case, the power of the USB port was not enough to connect these two elements at the same time. In my case, I need to choose a hub with an external power supply. Anyway, this one does its job well.
