Review on NEWLAKE Bedspread Stitched Embroidery Paisley by Holly Walker

Nice weight but shrinks and fades

I have Pets, so I need washable bedding, and I like to sleep, so it has to be breathable and made from natural fibers. Washing: technically 5/5 - yes you 'can' wash and dry it, practically 2/5 wash The instructions say not to tumble dry, but since it's 100% cotton I did it anyway. Now my queen size comforter barely covers the sides of the mattress (with a platform bed, no box spring). I was supposed to get a double bed for my double bed, but I really didn't want the hassle of having that much weight in the washing machine. Every time I wash and dry this comforter, the lint filter is full of lint. It also fades easily with each wash. Breathability: 5/5 This blanket has a lot of weight for me and I can even add a thin cotton blanket in the colder months without getting too hot and sweaty. Very pretty! Pets: 3/5 (just because it needs frequent washing and I don't know how long it will last) It has withstood the claws and fangs of a large dog and two cats amazingly well, showing off its black not gray hair. It washes and dries pretty well despite shrinkage, slight fading and a TON of lint. For an inexpensive blanket, I'm satisfied, but it doesn't exceed expectations.

Pros
  • Handmade Patchwork: Made from various floral pattern cotton fabric pieces sewn together, special closed box with double stitching keeps the shape of the filling material even after several washes and is light enough for late spring or summer
Cons
  • Zero
