Received as a gift for Christmas, have used this recorder many times. It is very comfortable and easily fits in a jacket or pants pocket. Very light considering its equipment: HD video recording with digital zoom, 8 GB memory, etc. (see specifications). The touchscreen peels off easily, but this may be due to using the included screen protector - we recommend purchasing additional screen protectors. I didn't check the HDMI output capabilities but saw several products including cables, cases, and $17 screen protectors. Autofocus takes a few seconds to trigger - don't count on turning it on and getting clear video instantly - allow 5 seconds to focus. Storage capacity is excellent - it can record hours of HD video at maximum resolution. You can also take hundreds of digital photos. The digital camera is good in good light but not ideal for those looking for a good digital camera to take photos with. However, Bloggie is optimized for video recording. A suggestion for improvement could be the WIFI support, a feature that together with minimal browser capabilities to instantly upload photos and videos to Facebook and YouTube would make the product much more attractive to techies. Despite this, the included software makes it easy to import, organize and archive videos and images. Haven't seen the Flip in person so can't really compare but am very happy with the Sony Bloggie.
