The oiler was packaged in a very good thick foam. It was not broken or torn when it was delivered. :-) Tag is not "tagged". The labeling is American on the one hand and European on the other. Knife not included. The knife was not advertised. I knew I wouldn't get the knife. However, there is plenty of room to store a butter knife or snack knife along with the butter. I think a block of cream cheese fits here, too; However, I don't have any cream cheese at home right now.
