Kitten size

My adult cats flipped it the first time they jumped on it. This can work well for kittens. It's very unstable. The pads do not stick with the included Velcro pads. We couldn't figure out how to get the top of the last ones to stay in place at all. We bought it for a specific location. I'll try to use some old wood and add a sheet of plywood over the box. Then we will see rubber bands for some of the cat beds that we already have. If it works I'll report back with pictures. I will also be recycling some bolts from old scratching posts. When we end up using it, it will hardly look like it started. If you're buying this tree for adult cats, don't. May be helpful for kittens. But leave out the top shelf entirely. This is dangerous. I'll place a pair of 5 pound dumbbells in the base for stabilization. I modified it with parts of an old scratching post. I stabilized the base so it wouldn't fall off if the cat jumped away. I added a big platform in the middle and also an old cat bed with rubber bands on the 4 corners to keep it from sliding down. I used a top platform from an old scratching post that has a side for the top platform. The scratching post is stable and now a full size cat can be placed on each perch. My older cat gives her opinion on both the tree and my modifications in the picture. I constantly remind myself to think about buying a cat at least 16 times before buying one.
