I have a 42" waist and I usually wear 16" or sometimes 18" pants. I ordered 36-41" belts because I was afraid of going up a size would be great. A lot of people have commented on how stretchy they are so I figured I'd be safe. They are quite stretchy, but one thing that can happen is that if you order a size down and just rely on it stretching, the opening on the belt will start to tear or look stretched. If I were to order again I would probably order a size larger. The straps don't slip and hold up well. I definitely recommend it.
