Review on ๐Ÿ”Œ Club 3D Active HDMI to DisplayPort Video Adapter - 4K 60Hz, HDMI 2.0 (Male) to DP 1.2 (Female), with USB Power - Optimal for Monitor Conversion (CAC-1331) by Mark Ponnusamy

Great potential ruined by inconsistent execution. Buy an UpTab adapter instead.

If this product works then it works great, meets all advertised specs etc - 4K 60Hz, great picture quality, no problem. I bought this so I can switch my monitor from PC gaming to console (basically switchable). My monitor only supports 4k60hz over DisplayPort, not over HDMI. One thing I can't figure out is why this adapter is so sensitive. It may not be very compatible with my monitor (Samsung 28" 4K U28E590D) but I read at least one other review complaining about flickering. Three times a day I unplugged this unit and plugged it back into my HDMI switch plugged in, but the following issues occurred without them, and I've tried many different HDMI, DisplayPort, and power cables: 1. The screen "flickers" with varying degrees of artifacts 2. The screen "dims" seemingly at random for about one Second, but it can ruin your game (made Rocksmith unnecessarily difficult for me) 3. The screen will be "static"-y artifacts, like you're looking at an old CRT TV through an antenna with a slightly poor signal. But I find it quite distracting 3. When your laptop goes to sleep and you don't turn off the monitor, it flickers randomly - like BRIGHT WHITE at various intervals.Several times I slept in my media room (where it was plugged in). it was very bright and fast enough to wake me up. Disconnecting and reconnecting once or twice seems to "re-sync" the monitor and clear the issue. (s) temporary, and the biggest trigger for these issues seemed to be my laptop going to sleep when connected to a monitor/adapter. some time to start. This adapter also gets hot. Not that much but enough to make me wonder if it needs a heatsink or if it doesn't have enough bandwidth to allow 4k 60hz and is therefore having issues. It was also the only product of its kind when I bought it. There is now an UpTab adapter and for now these problems seem to have gone and it seems to offer better value for money so this adapter is probably for will always be sitting in a desk drawer unless it somehow works better with another device (I don't have it). another DisplayPort device).TL;DR - If it works, it works fine, otherwise reconnect it. If you can get an UpTab adapter, get it. If that's your only option, prepare for trouble.
