Update: You can see the original review below for background, but after posting, Anker contacted me and sent me a new cable. After about 1 month of use, I can say that the new cable is great and hasn't let me down yet. As the last one took about 5 months I will update it again in about 4 months to see if it deserves a 5 star rating. However, I own several Anker products and believe them when they say the original cable was probably just defective. They stand by their product and I appreciate that as a consumer. First rating: Bought the red cable in February (along with an extra black one). Black still charges well and the red almost doesn't charge. Never pull or twist the cable; it just stopped working (while the black one still works fine). I rotated them, so I don't know why the red one died quicker. Generally 1 out of 2 cables (nearly $20 each) lasted less than 5 months. Not sure if this is a good investment or not but I would like them to invest for at least a year. I probably wouldn't buy another Anker cable if the quality didn't improve. but I want them to last at least a year for the investment.
