I had a 10 year old mouse pad and decided to get a new one because the mouse pointer wasn't moving very fast. I take that thing out of the box and there's this chemical smell. I moved my mouse over it and the pointer became very fast. Wow. crazy and i thought it was my mouse. After a few minutes, this chemical smell began to afflict me, and by the time I was done checking, I had put my mouse pad outside to air out. We'll see if the smell goes away in the morning. I'm not giving a star for the smell because anything you buy will have a chemical smell, it depends on how quickly it dissipates.
