After reading a few reviews on this product (ranging from 7-5/8" to 14" 43691) I was able to make an informed purchase. Many have stated that you need two of these to keep your stride stable. I can confirm that. They are small and light when compressed for storage and easy to use. I sprayed some WD-40 lithium grease on them and they adjusted very quickly. You really need to adjust them so that your bottom step is slightly elevated (especially on gravel and dirt) and as soon as you step on them they immediately seat. I would highly recommend using them again. I've used other products like this and they tend to be bulkier or more difficult to set up. Another alternative would be Moryde or Lippert steps that fold into the doorway. Our last motorhome had them and they are of course very stable. However, the legs require constant adjustment on almost all surfaces as they can be uneven most of the time (we've even noticed this on the black tip surfaces). We almost always used a small piece of wood flooring. And you have to sweep them up every time you put them in your RV. You don't have this problem with folding steps. So I think this is the best and cheapest solution. Just do it! You won't regret it once you get used to it.
