Review on Black Canon PowerShot G7 X Mark II Digital Camera with Wi-Fi, NFC, 1-Inch Sensor, and LCD Screen - 100 - 1066C001 by Ask Itthipong ᠌

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is completely satisfied, performs its functions.

Good time of the day! I chose my favorite to replace the suddenly deceased compact Canon PowerShot G12 from Canon PowerShot G9X, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-RX100, Canon PowerShot G1X Mark II, Canon PowerShot G5X and even Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark II Kit, Fujifilm FinePix X- T10. Each camera has its own shortcomings . no comment. As a result, I chose the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II, which I am very pleased with. I was very pleased with the quality of photographing the backlight of the night city with hands WITHOUT SHAVING . in AV mode, ISO 200, at f / 1.8 aperture and shutter speed 1/20 ! My "SLR" is quietly resting on a shelf . For me, perhaps the perfect combination of weight and size for a compact camera. Very unusual macro photography. On this camera, not MACRO, but I would even say MICRO . too soapy already a centimeter from the center of focus. I never got hung up on broken pixels, but I checked . NO. In short . I recommend the Canon PowerShot G7X Mark II - a compact camera in the size of a "soap box" and photo quality superior to some "DSLRs". After half a year of operation, the rating is 4 out of 5.

Pros
  • 1. Well, a very light strong lens. The aperture of the lens, even at the maximum 4x zoom, does not fall below f / 2.8. 2. Matrix 1``(13.2x8.8 mm). The photo quality at 9 MPix is practically the same as at 20 MPix, unless you look at it through a magnifying glass on a computer, so you can save space on the memory card if necessary, almost without loss of quality. 3. Night shooting. there are no words for admiration. Fully working ISO 1600. 4. Optical stabilizer works at 5 points. 5. Autofocus is instant, no misses . at least in my copy. 6. Light weight and very comfortable to hold with one hand. especially after the Canon G12. 7. Management is comfortable and fast. Due to the touch screen, you can select the object for focusing with one touch. 8. The menu is like a “DSLR” . easy to use and at the same time with a “bunch” of settings. 9. Rotatable screen is convenient for SELFIE. 10. "Cool" deflectable flash. 11. The survivability of the battery (1250mAh) is not annoying, because I immediately bought a spare one. But I think that personally two batteries will be enough for me for the whole vacation . for about 500-600 photos. And where more?! 12. Lack of a viewfinder. it's not necessary for me. My former Canon G12 weaned me from using it because of the disgusting review. 13. The lack of a shoe for an external flash . I don’t even use it in a SLR. 14. MADE IN JAPAN. no comment. 15. Video shoot, I'm a little amateur. But I tried. the quality is excellent in 1920x1080 format, especially 50 fps, and 1280x720 is not bad in my opinion. it's still not a video camera. 16. Price. a good product and should be priced accordingly. And if it’s “expensive”, then you don’t need to buy it, and then whine to the entire Internet that it’s “expensive”. It is better to say “thank you” to our “dear” state for such an “expensive”!
Cons
  • After half a year of operation revealed some shortcomings. 1. Although the lens aperture is f / 1.8, the working one starts at f / 4.0. At small apertures, at high magnification, there is slight distortion in the photo. Especially distortions are shown at f/1.8 and f/2.0. 2. Macro photography - soapy soap. You need to have a huge amount of time and iron nerves to achieve at least some more or less acceptable focus.
