Review on 🌈 Tulip One-Step Tie-Dye Kit Kaleidoscope: Vibrant 12-Color Tie Dye Experience by Carol Miller

Revainrating 5 out of 5

As far as I remember, much better than the ones that die!

I haven't painted tie-dye since camp in the '90s. This kit is head and shoulders better than the well-known "soak in buckets of rit dye" method that I'm familiar with. The colors are VERY bright and have not faded after 2-3 washes. No pre-soaking or post-soaking is required, and squeeze bottles made the process easy for my 4-year-old (whose shirts turned out really good!). We washed all our shirts before we died and left them damp. I boiled it with rubber bands, dyed it, put it in grocery bags and left it outside for 5-6 hours, it was raining pretty hard then. Rinse in the sink, then wash and dry all together. We have dyed: 6 medium adult t-shirts, one medium adult long sleeve shirt, 5 little boys t-shirts, 5-6 4T shirts/T-shirts, one 4T summer dress, one 4T pants. (We've dyed all of our light-colored, stain-resistant cotton fabrics.) We've used up most of the dye. Even the brown one, which looked way cooler than I thought it would. Tips: If you can, paint the outside. We did it over gravel which was perfect. The kit comes with a set of rubber bands, but we needed extra ones. When shaking the paint/water in the bottle to mix, some of us spilled a few drops but they rubbed off our wooden floor easily without staining. Not sure if it will separate easily from stone/tile/vinyl. A pair of cheap plastic gloves are included - they fit me perfectly, ripped on my husband and were obviously huge for a 4 year old.
