Pliers are dangerous. They rotate the crucible and don't hold it properly. If it was filled with hot metal, it would splatter everywhere. I ended up throwing them away and just using some old locks to fill the jar. In addition, the metal included in the kit did not melt. After 20 minutes with a Mapp gas torch, the metal was just hot. It must have been left over after they made Captain America's shield or something! Throw it away too. Use some lead-free tin for the first try.
