Although this product's description says it fits laptops up to 17", it was for his wife's new 17-inch Dell laptop is too small for me. The main issue is that the flanges/edges at the front of the stand are less than 1/2 inch high. Many modern laptops don't have a square front edge. When rounded like their Dell it is very unstable and tries to slide from the stand to the user. Due to the relatively small width and instability, we returned the goods. He looks well built. The hinges were stiff enough to stay in place, but loose enough to be moved by hand to adjust. It just doesn't fit our application.
