VERY easy assembly. I'm not the type to read directions. I usually have a "yes, I have it" attitude. After reading negative reviews about difficult assembly, drilling holes, etc. I realized it didn't sound right, but still didn't want to be disappointed. The price and design outweighed what I read and I took a chance. Items are carefully packed. Illustrated instructions are easy to understand. *NOTE When unpacking, pay attention to the stickers on each leg; they are not only there! Customers complain that they are visible and cannot be removed. If you connect it CORRECTLY, you won't see the stickers. I had to carefully unscrew 1 sticker by 2 millimeters, as the white sticker is in stark contrast to the dark wood. - (deep dark brown, not black) The fabric is beautiful linen, the nailhead detail is substantial. The hardware holes have been designed correctly, the legs are perfectly aligned. Before beginning assembly, I applied two coats of Scotchguard, being careful not to spray it onto the wood. The only thing I would like to say is that I would like a denser foam seat. I suspect I'll have to replace it with higher quality foam over time; which should be pretty easy.
