ATTENTION: cheap scrap!

Received this today and was immediately blown away by the incredibly poor build quality. I tried to show in the first photo, but what should be smooth lines and edges on the plastic is covered with ridges, bulges and factory defects as if it was broken out of the mold by hand, like a children's plastic model, and not sanded. . Considering the price, I was willing to ignore the dingy look and fit of the end caps, but after plugging and unplugging them once into my laptop's USB-C port, I noticed that the USB-C plug in was at an odd angle and was made of plastic, the fuselage separating at the seam. I pushed down on the plastic case to slide it back into place and heard the inner panel crackle as I did so. since the USB-C adapter seems to be soldered at the wrong angle, not just loose. After plugging it into my computer a second time, it was not recognized. I unplugged it and plugged it back in by pushing a little further (impossible to tell when it's plugged in because the connector is longer than it should be and doesn't "snap" in place). The red LED on the card reader flashed for a split second, my screen went black and I was afraid my laptop would catch fire. Luckily this only caused a hardware failure and my computer restarted fine but sent back this piece of junk. It's not worth it. Buy something from a reputable manufacturer, not this unbranded junk. You can't see plugging it in because the plug is longer than it should be and doesn't "snap in"").
