Didn't work the way it was intended for me. Okay, I don't like that it comes in 2 pieces (queen size). Pieces tend to separate. I have a metal platform. I placed the rug handle on the base and then the feather duster. I lowered the rug handle hoping it would keep the dust from shifting and moving. I then placed another rug gripper over the duster to keep the mattress lifter from shifting or moving. Then I put the mattress lifter and my mattress and mattress topper on top. When I put the mattress on the lift, I knew it probably wouldn't work because the mat lift had already started moving when I put the mattress on it. In fact, within a few days the lifter slipped out from under the mattress and slid completely under the mattress to the other side of the bed and hit the wall. It's kind of a feat because I'm not a lightweight. He could have kept walking and slipped completely out from under the mattress if the wall hadn't stopped him. So I took the mattress off and put a protective sleeve over the 2 pieces of mat lifter to hold the pieces together and removed the dust lint so I could put the lifter straight onto the base and put the mattress back on top, it slipped a little more. I'm 67 years old and not in good shape and I had to do everything on my own. I just couldn't get the mattress off and try something else and that didn't work either. So I took the mattress off one last time, took off the mat lifter, put it on top of my mattress and put the mattress topper on top and that's how I use it. It's not as comfortable as under the carpet. but it works, because I don't want to go back to the bedroom apartment. I think you can buy a case for it and I recommend anyone who buys this to buy that too, maybe it will prevent it from moving. I can't afford a cover right now and anyway I can't take this mattress off again to try it out and see if it works.
