Review on 💧 iSpring RCT600 Countertop Reverse Osmosis System: Tankless 600 GPD RO Water Filter for RV, Apartment, Dorms - Portable & No Plumbing Required! by David Epps

Great high-throughput RO if you have the countertop space

I got this RO system because I wanted low-ppm water to use for a hobby application. I did not want to drill into my countertop to install a system underneath. I also did not want one of the slower (e.g 80 GPD) systems because I need about a gallon at a time and don’t want to wait 10 minutes. For the price, this is the best countertop plumbed unit I’ve found. If you don’t need more than a glass at a time or don’t mind waiting, you can get a slower tankless system for about 1/3-1/4 of the price.Pros:* Works as advertised. My 300ppm bad-tasting tap goes down to 18ppm as of the day I installed this. Tastes great.* Easy installation. Pull up their guide online, makes it much easier to understand what to do. My faucet worked with the provided standard male adapter, I’d wager it’ll look uglier and be a bit fussier if you have to use the "universal” adapter. If you end up using the universal adapter, it will also be more difficult to remove it from the faucet if needed.* Nice form factor. Given that 10 inch long filter cartridges are a standard, it would be difficult to package a 3-filter system in a smaller form than this.* Solid build. All of the critical parts (e.g faucet mount) feel solid and high quality.Cons:* The tubing could be neater, perhaps with some kind of attachment points along the back of the unit? As-is, it’s difficult to hide the tubing. I might cut off some of the tubes in the future to make the path to the faucet shorter.* Removing the casing around the system is a hassle. You need to remove 6 Philips screws, with four of these underneath the system. Would be nicer to have this use some kind of no-tool snapping lock system, or have the screws in an easily accessible place at the very least. It is annoying to have to access the bottom of the unit — certainly means it can not be in a tight space when you need to replace the filters.

Pros
  • Under-Sink & Countertop Filtration
Cons
  • The constant need to refill the tank can be time-consuming and inconvenient for users who regularly consume large amounts of water
