Excellent. - Fan noise and inductive "click"/"hum" add up to a small moderate hiss. Don't whisper softly. Initially it was the loudest, after some time of operation the noise of the shift magnets essentially disappeared. Strange. - The "Water" setting and only the "Water" setting consumes 1397 watts when set to 1300 watts. All others when set at 1300 watts is 1315 watts. - Off + automatic fan on <3W. OFF and no fan = <2W (it bounces around so it can be 1-1.5W on average). - It can continuously drive lower power settings from 1300W to 700W (100% ON). 600W and lower settings pulse between 3W and 720W, just like microwave ovens. - The (magnetic) induction area is 5.5 inches in diameter as advertised. This means that your induction cookware should have as little space as possible from the "sticker" embossing on the bottom (company name + information/label recess that lifts the bottom). middle of the pot from the induction surface) The magnetic field should already go through the glass, so a small embossing in the middle doesn't hurt and can help that the middle doesn't burn (not a bug, but a feature? !?). - My new Homichef pan is 1.75 liters in diameter and 6.5 inches in diameter (nickel free with metal cap). The pot has a 2-3/8" dented decal area that showed up as slightly less bubbles in the water, but I guess that's not too bad. The 1" diameter area in the center was not in the water very active (low induction zone).Water heating (fewer bubbles). The 1""gap" in the middle should mean it doesn't burn much in the middle, which is good (otherwise a very hot spot). - The main heating area appears to be 3.5 inches in diameter. I use a Homichef pot with a thick bottom that keeps the center of the pot hot (bubbles) even though it has a 2 3/8 inch sticker/embossed area. - The induction zone is offset up, not in the middle of the painted rings, but up 3/4 inch (away from the button area). - The induction switches off quickly, <1 second, when the pan is lifted from the induction surface. - 1 minute after lifting the pot, the power will be cut off. This leaves the fan to cool the electronics. The fan turns off after a few minutes. - Fairly well with my old 8 quart, 9.5 inch diameter Sears New Dimensions pot filled with water. 700W (light rolling with very few bubbles). At 600W and below, the power turns on and off, and when turned on there is a non-rolling boil (boil) with large bubbles. - I didn't want 1800w induction cooker, this 1300w (1400w max) will be better to work with battery inverters. My Humless LiPo battery has a 1500w inverter, so 1800w is way too much (probably between 2w and 1800w at lower power settings on and off). - Image at 5.5 minutes 1300 watts, 1 liter of cold water. Also shows the required offset that will center cooking in the pot. - End of batch. Hehe, for you old geeks.
