I have worn these shoes without laces for many years and I love them. My wife suggested that lace-up shoes could help me with supination. They appear to be exactly the same as slip-ons and fit very well. I've never been able to wear Sperry boat shoes as much as I like their style because the high heels chafe and callous my ankles. You don't climb high enough to cause this injury, it's okay. I don't understand how a shoe made in China can cost over $100, but it's their process and you either take it or leave it. If they last a little longer than slip-ons, I'll be happy. Nice comfortable shoe and appears to be well made.
