I've always bought the artificial version of these sponges. They did their job well enough but had to be replaced quite often. I was afraid to buy real things - I thought they were expensive and the idea of sustainability is important to me. I was sooooo happy when I came across this company! They are sustainably grown in the Gulf of Mexico and are very cheap! They have natural antimicrobial and antibacterial properties so don't need to be replaced frequently! You have to remember that sponges are also natural scrubs, so not soft like a washcloth but almost scratchy like a brush. However, they do not tickle and are pleasant to use, promoting blood circulation and leaving the skin clean, soft and radiant. My only complaint is that no rope is included for hanging, but I can easily add one myself. All in all 100% recommendable!
