Newpowa 30A MPPT solar charge controller should be avoided at all costs, it is useless.

I received this product in February 2021 because I need an alternative power source. I also bought a very cheap $30 charger at the time, I used the cheap one in a test project and was very impressed with its performance. However, yesterday I decided it was time to try my more expensive Newpowa charger. Worst mistake, I have 2 6v batteries, 1 24v solar panel and a 750w inverter ready to go, just like I thought. I connect my batteries in series to get 12 volts, then I connect the solar panel to the charge controller and then there is smoke, the charger didn't even last a minute, it keeps pushing smoke out of the positive terminal of the charger. not a good product
