It may not look like it, but this is a pain in the ass to put together. The install instructions are very lacking. I actually started putting it together and had to take it apart twice and then had to YouTube it. It shouldn't be that difficult to assemble, but weirdly enough it was. My daughter was making fun of me the entire time. It took me over an hour just to get 2 squares together. I finally gave up after that and put it aside to finish later. Outside of the crappy instructions and assembly though, it was very effective and worked great for storing my boots! You can choose to include the lids or not. I originally put the lids on, but since it's just going in my closet I think I'll probably take them back off so I can easily see what's inside each pocket. However, if you were keeping them out in the open such as by the door the lids are great for making it look neater. I do have to point out that I found some of the lids to be crooked and so they didn't sit and close right like they should which annoyed the hell out of me. They can be bent back how they should be with some effort though.
