We used to have a traditional salt lamp which was a large burning piece of salt rock. While it was beautiful, it wasn't the prettiest thing on a table or countertop. The Himalayan Aurora is a very attractive light and night light set. The light basket has a single dimmable 15 watt light at the base which is then covered with smaller salt rocks. The basket is beautiful and durable. The cord with plug has a very flexible light output setting that allows you to customize the light. The night light is not small but works well in a standard socket. On top of the night lamp there is a small high basket that you fill with small salt stones. The light itself is at the foot of the light, and you place stones on the light. The basket is beautiful and durable. When the lights are on, the night light is attractive. While I won't go into the uses of salt rock lanterns and their benefits, I can say that both lights are attractive and the pink salt rocks are well lit and create a very peaceful atmosphere. This set is a very good gift or something for your own home. We have a large light basket in the kitchen and a night light in the bathroom.
