Of course, the iPhone already has a decent microphone. But imagine if it were even better and its settings could be adjusted. Well, the PALOVUE iMic handheld flash microphone is the answer to that question. It's in a small form factor but packs a lot of great audio tech into it. I wanted more control over video recording and the iMic was my choice. It has an ultra-portable form factor and is very well built. The no-frills Palovue app complements it well, allowing me to fine-tune the way I shoot in a range of situations. The iMic is well protected in its own small zippered carrying case with a soft lining. Once connected via the Lightning connector, simply access the app to set it to your preferred sound setting. There are music and voice settings, the sensitivity of the latter can be adjusted at 4 distance levels depending on how far the connected iMic picks up from the speaker. This helps block out background noise and focus on your voice. The musical settings are great for a variety of styles and situations. The microphone can be rotated approximately 90˚ and the silver top can be rotated 90˚ for optimal signal reception from the side receivers. I tested all app settings and you can really hear the difference. My only complaint is that I had to remove the case from the iPhone to properly connect to the iMic. Otherwise, I can't praise it highly enough. I'm sure this will improve my control over the audio quality of my video recordings. Made in China Cort
