This cool technique. Let's deal with this strait from the gate. I don't know how it works but I have another pillow that costs three times as much as this one that focuses on this technology. It works. it is strange. Without a pillowcase, it looks like your pillow is wet for a second before you realize it's just cold. This feature works less and less the thicker the pillowcase you are using. This is an interesting feature and there is a noticeable difference, but since another pillow I have focuses on this feature, the actual comfort of the pillow becomes the starting point. Read: My other pillow is not as comfortable. The cooling functions of both pillows are equally effective. This pillow has shredded memory foam and comes with extra. I used all of that. I love the idea that I can remove or add padding to change the dynamic of this pillow. You can actually put anything in this cooling pad if you just want the heat dissipation function but don't like a real pad. That was my plan. but I can't handle it. I'm not a fan of shredded memory foam in general. Seems cheap to me. I compare it to these memory foam mattress pads which are 3/4 air and half the price of real mattress pads. It seems, and probably is true, that sanding down the foam rubber and using all the air between the parts as filler is cheaper than a solid block of foam. After a week on this pillow I don't want to go back to my rigid foam. Block. I gladly admit that I was wrong. The essence of pillow stiffness, at least for me, is that the pressure of the pillow doesn't have to be linear. The first half of the pillow filling should yield and the second half should hold. Hotel pillows have this magical principle, but it's not the same as home pillows. even the one sold as a hotel pillow. Crushed memory foam has this principle. You will sink about halfway into the softness, but then the foam will start to shrink and become hard. I have slept on the best pillows in some very nice hotels. To be honest, most can be bought if you can find them, but I've never done so. This is the most comfortable pillow I've ever had.
