So I went for the blue flag design which costs a bit more but even then this $25 item is pretty good. I filled it with ice and water yesterday afternoon and although the ice was gone the water was still cold about 18 hours later. Personally, I really only need it to keep it cold for a few hours at a time, so the insulation is fine. Also, I have the same size hydroflask (40 ounces) and they work about the same, but the hydroflask was almost double the price. I love that the Extremus has a spout on the lid that prevents ice from hitting my face unlike a hydro flask. Decent quality carabiner and paracord handle. Will I ever really need them in an emergency? nope But the paracord makes for a handy grip, and there's a plastic clip so you can actually use a carabiner or the paracord handle itself to attach your water bottle to whatever you need to attach it to.
