Review on DuPont WFFMC103X Protection 100 Gallon Filtration by Heather Richardson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

But the water is delicious.

Bought these filters to replace the included filter on my DuPont WFFM350XCH 200 gallon electrically metered deluxe faucet mount premium water filter unit. The included filter didn't reach 200 gallons. After about 60 gallons, the water flow became so low that it became annoying, not to mention it took so long to fill a mug, water bowl, etc. Another reviewer mentions adding chlorine to NYC water during the warmer months to kill bacteria, bugs, etc. I think they use more chlorine because of Ebola and other viruses. If so, that explains why these filters wear out faster. Check your area if you have a similar tap water situation. With that in mind, I wouldn't recommend buying 200-gallon filters. Use these 100 gallon filters instead. Remember I paid about $23.60 for 3 filters! If I had continued to buy gallon bottles of spring water at the store for $0.99 or even $0.89 I would have paid a lot more! I average about 50 gallons or so before I have to replace the filter with a new one. Feel free to do the math yourself. This is the best option. Note. Keep in mind that getting to 100 gallons with your filter will most likely depend on your location. If you need to replace your filter before then, imagine all the debris your filter collected before it became clogged and you had to replace it. Something to think about.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Expensive insurance
