Review on AcePlus Premium Black Triple 3-Disc DVD Cases - 14mm Standard Thickness with Inner Flip Tray and Built-In Book Clips (Pack of 10) by Ronny Welch

The strongest DVD case ever! =) BUT, they have significant disadvantages. =(

First, I have to give credit to the manufacturer of these cases for making these cases the strongest and most secure I've seen since the heyday of the DVD format In the late 90's and early 2000's I wish I could give this product more stars but unfortunately the following annoying flaws bring it to about 3 stars overall for me: 1) Some of the edges of the black plastic are quite roughly molded/cut here , but that alone is fine, and that's understandable given the prices of these cases. 2) The disc hubs hold all 3 discs securely during storage BUT when inserting or removing a disc on the front/first hub (located on the platter) the action can sometimes put enough pressure on the 3rd disc (located on the back wall, below the turntable) to move it. The design of the 3rd Hub just isn't ideal for this type of multi-platter enclosure as it easily detaches its platter. 3) For me - quite a strong chemical plastic smell from these cases. This seems to be common with some popular DVD cases. While I have a sensitive nose, I couldn't hold my hands on it for very long, so I didn't want to add it to my existing DVD collection. I know many other DVD collectors/users probably wouldn't mind or even notice the smell, but unfortunately for me it was a deal breaker so I had to return them. =(If the manufacturer primarily addressed the last 2 shortcomings these cases would be an excellent product in all respects. But as it stands I had to look elsewhere for a solution for three-plate cases.

Pros
  • Built in book clips and clear film for graphic inserts and brochures
Cons
  • Almost never
