Review on πŸ‘“ VUF-110 Wearable Display by Vufine by Tutan Dennard

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Might be ideal for improving situational awareness with drones (DJI Inspire 2)

This handheld display is ideal for improving situational awareness when flying a drone. I fly an Inspire 2 drone which has a video camera and an FPV camera which is always nose pointed. To maintain VLOS you must follow the aircraft while minimizing your gaze to check the display as best as possible. I use the Cendence Controller to quickly set up the camera with touch instead of having to search in the app. To see the FPV view you need to overlay the camera view in the app. This approach will result in you taking your eyes off the VLOS longer than necessary to check the camera and FPV drone. The display is very sharp and you just have to consciously focus on the screen. You can still see your drone peripherally while doing this, although it takes a bit of getting used to. With the Vufine Wearable display, I can see the FPV of what the drone is seeing in front of me while continuing to view the drone in flight. I'm still experimenting with whether I want the wearable display to show FPV or camera view. It doesn't matter if I fly alone or with a second operator. Use the Cendence remote control to set the HDMI output to 720p. You then choose what is displayed on your Vufine's HDMI output. Update *** October 2018 My rating has been downgraded to 3 stars due to this issue. either supplied clear goggles or driving goggles with a Vufine attached rendering the display unusable. I'll look into some sort of eyecup solution. Will update when I complete some experiments
