Review on πŸ”Š High-Powered 100W PA Power Horn Speaker with Hifi Stereo Audio Amplifier - Ideal for Indoor and Outdoor Use by Chris Reeves

It works. - Home Theater

Okay, I never normally look at items I've bought from Amazon, but here's mine. I ordered this to be used with a Cobra CB radio for use as a PA on job sites. All I can say is this speaker is loud! The kit includes a horn speaker, a (cheap) amplifier and a power cord for the amplifier. I had to buy speaker wire and audio jacks to connect to CB. There are some flaws that I encountered during the installation process. 1) The horn is quite big, luckily I had the perfect spot behind the bumper on my Silverado. I had to make custom brackets to attach the horn to the bumper (no big deal). FYI, the horn is powered by the amp so I didn't have to hardwire it to anything. 2) I decided to plug the amp into the cigarette lighter socket on the back of my center console so it would switch automatically. turns on and off when the truck moves. This amp appears to be very cheap, its body is made of very thin aluminum and all the plug connections don't seem to be very well secured inside (hey, you get what you pay for, right?). The amp is under my driver's seat so I can lean forward and adjust the volume as needed. So this is where I had some problems. When the amp turns on, LEDs flash around all the controls like there's a weird techno party going on under my seat. which is a bit annoying when driving at night. After finally connecting all the components together, the only sound I could get through the horn was a low-pitched muted tone. (After some frustration and a short beer break) I took another look at the amp and noticed that the right speaker connection was on the left and the left was on the right. It didn't make much of a difference to me, but it made me think that the video and audio connection I was using might have been flipped with the wrong colors as well. I swapped them out and Boom! I can yell at ladies from a mile away! J/k Just be aware if you're using a single horn speaker to adjust the balance between the left or right speaker (depending on which side you connect to the back of the amp). Hope this review helps.
