While I love the durability of this school uniform-style polo shirt, the sizing is very small. My daughter wears a 10 slim and this 10/12 shirt was too short in the front and too tight for her. That is not true. It was more like 8/10. This shirt would not fit a size 12. The buttons are pleasant to the touch: the button area has been reinforced with fabric. Don't worry about the buttons falling apart. The shirt is made from 60% cotton and 40% polyester so it has a little stretch for growing kids. The collar has a stripe of blue ribbon that runs down the back. This is the area where you can write name tags. I love the thoughtful design and only wish the size was a little bigger.
