The brushes are soft and the chopsticks have such a fun shape. My reason for the 4* is that they are very flexible, some were bent and straightened out very easily. They're also quite heavy, you'd think they wouldn't bend that easily since they're so heavy. Also, the parts of the brush aren't really part of the stick, they're just glued on, so there's some glue and some pretty sharp edges since they're not glued to the stick, just glued on. I hope they are glued well enough to hold up to washing and I will try to ruffle them so they are not so uncomfortable to hold. But none of these issues are enough for me to want to return them, I really like all the fun shapes and for the price I paid I'm honestly surprised they are as good as the brushes are On their own they are nicer than some of the more expensive ones I've had to throw away.
