Okay I just tried this and it didn't seem to work on my TV at first glance when I plugged it in. Then I tried my computer monitor and it actually worked. I also confirmed that the audio was working through the headphone jack on the monitor. Now I'm back on the TV (Samsung) and have everything connected. It worked in the end, but I think it matters how you wire the switch and what state it is in. I think you should connect the switch first with the controllers powered off. Make sure your power supply is plugged in before plugging in the switch. This should help. The sound also worked on the TV via HDMI. The quality of the video turned out to be almost the same. Some minor differences I attribute to the monitor/TV, not the converter.
