Risked based on 3 star ratings. This compass is completely useless in a new car or truck. Too much metal in the dashboard. I was hoping I could mark a line on it to account for the angle it was at from north, but it didn't move once while in my Honda Ridgeline. However, it shows true north when placed on my kitchen table. Well, if I can think of a way to manage my desk, I will. Luckily I only bought 2 packs. Maybe I'll put the second one on the dining table. I think in case of emergency you can also use it away from your car when you are stuck in the forest.
