Have you ever washed your hands with lava soap or anything rough for your hands you find in machine shop toilets? It is essentially the same as what is packaged and released as shaving cream. It smells like oranges, washes oil off your face, and dries out your facial hair so your razor just pulls out all the hair. This material also does not protect the skin from razor burn. I've had terrible luck finding a natural shaving gel and I'm about to go back to standard foam. It may work for certain skin types and certain razors, but it didn't work for me.
