I use them for hip hop lessons and I wanted to be able to do gauze pirouettes. The more I use it, the easier it turns. The only things to get used to: The heal is a big block - you feel between the ball and the heal, but you have to get used to being farther off the ground. Second, when you first put the shoes on they feel flimsy, but I had no problem with that feeling while dancing. It held my foot securely and I didn't feel unsafe or shaky.
