This HDMI/USB capture device worked very well with any 1080p or 720p source I've used and no setup was required. The picture quality is very good. I have absolutely no complaints. One thing I really like is the HDMI pass-through. It certainly makes it easier to watch videos recorded on a TV or monitor, or transfer them to another video device. It's really nice to have. The problem I have with this device is that it is significantly more expensive than competing products, but offers fewer features. One of the other branded devices I own is $40 less, and in addition to supporting 1080p video, the other also supports 4K. It also has separate audio inputs and outputs. Bottom line, this works well, but there are cheaper products that offer more features and offer at least the same video quality.
