I bought these for my chicken coop. I needed something more durable than plastic ties and easier than twisting wire to connect the wire mesh to the PVC frame we had built. I didn't want to drill holes and use washers and screws to secure the wire. Enter stainless steel truss. Not only do they wear out as quickly as plastic zip ties, I don't have to worry about the sun wearing down the plastic and breaking it over time. I was able to tighten them without any special tools and they held in place with no problems. I bought a tightening tool but didn't use it halfway through the project. I trimmed off the excess with metal scissors, pressing the sharp edge inward. Most of the time I didn't even cut off the excess. A recommendation. Don't let them sit outside and get wet before use. The ball bearing becomes sticky and almost unusable.
