You get what you pay for.

I needed to replace the battery in my iPad 3 as it was no longer able to hold a charge so I decided to replace the screen (digitizer) as my screen has a few cracks in the corners had and must be removed independently of the battery change. The digitizer I bought here for $18 seemed reasonable and the reviews were fair. To start with this review, the tools are great and will get the job done. However, my first issue was that the end of the digitizer connector that came pre-fitted with a "plastic" (no glass) screen was larger/wider than the original Apple connector, making it difficult for me to connect and bend the flat cable. After assembling and testing, I immediately noticed that there was a grid on the "plastic" screen that was noticeable when the iPad was turned on, since the spare battery was charged when installed for testing. Also, there were a lot of dead zones that prevented me from using certain keys on the keyboard. In particular, "S", "D" and "K". I ended up ordering a $70 digitizer kit from Revain, which again is made out of plastic instead of glass, but works well with no issues. My replacement battery is just as good as the original Apple battery. The screen is a little different as it's not glass but does the job. So spend more on day one for a better digitizer or buy a better case to avoid cracking. Also, buy a roll of 3mm double-sided tape for less than $5 because neither cheap nor expensive digitizer screen glue is worth a damn.
