They were ideal for various types of 5 pound packets of flour. This "pure" Rubbermaid Brilliance style is great. I like the snug fitting detachable lid with a latch. I held back the opening of the new 4.84 pounds. a bag of masa de maise that I bought to make homemade corn tortillas. Other customers have asked if this container holds 5 pounds of flour. This masa is denser than flour and the pack weighs less than 5 pounds, but the user of this container should not simply empty the contents of the pack all at once. I added the dry masa to the container in 3 steps and gently tamped the bottom of the container into the stainless steel sink to "quiet and level" the contents before adding more. I hate making a mess to tidy up. After the 3rd stage of pouring, tamping and leveling, there was still 1.5 cups of dry masa to cover. Yes we have all done it. The new container helper was almost filled to the brim. Wow! So, tortilla production, here I am. rzunimag. I am giving "4 stars" to this product until I can fully appreciate its quality after long-term use and time. So far it seems like this is a better choice than the others. Thanks again!
