This product is not yet in use. I gave this review for two reasons. Reason 1: There was a sticker on the bottom of the plate saying it was hand wash only. It also had a sticker covering the seal, indicating the same. It says on the packaging and in the description that it can be washed in the dishwasher. The dishes are made of ceramic and can be washed in the dishwasher. I tossed it in the wash when I opened it, but I'm disgusted that it's marked 'hand wash only'. Reason 2: It's big - the lid doesn't fit properly. I have provided pictures to show what I mean. The edges don't align, leaving white spots and, more importantly, a gap. I can certainly put the lid down really gently to even out the edges, but let's face it, nobody has time for that when you're cooking for the army! This product will not function properly in its current condition. I ultimately chose to keep it despite my reasons because the product was as beautiful as the photo. I'll find an o-ring to make the top fit properly. It can actually be washed in the dishwasher and who really pays attention to the bottom of the plate. I think it's luck in the draw when the cap is on. Enjoy shopping! UPDATE: One star, couldn't get the shim to work. I thought I could live with the lid ajar but I can't use it - I returned the product. COST $20 to return it. I'm angry, but removing a useless item from my house was worth it! I could save myself the trouble and just throw it away because I only get $5 back. The worst thing I've bought so far.
