Review on Nikon 50mm f/1.8D AF Nikkor lens, black by Micha Spodymek ᠌

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Best thing for the money, glad I did it.

I purchased this lens along with the Nikon D7000, count it as change (compared to the price of the carcass). Why bought? - 50 mm - almost a portrait on a crop. I have a Nikon 35mm f / 1.8G AF-S DX Nikkor in use, you can’t shoot portraits very much, I took a fifty-kopeck piece to try - I don’t like it, I’ll replace it with 85 mm (with a surcharge). Comparing with Nikon 35mm f / 1.8G AF-S DX Nikkor - non-motorized poltos focuses quickly, but slower - the background on the open blurs more interestingly, the "spanner effect" personally does not cause dislike for me, I consider it as a feature of this glass - at f4, sharpness is just tin (excuse my 2022) - very good portraits are obtained in the open, the depth of field in the open is small, you have to be very good. attentive Well, for now, I wrote everything that I noticed, later I will add more of my observations. ate: the excitement subsided after a longer acquaintance with this lens and its comparison with the Nikkor AF-S 35mm 1.8G. and there are a couple of reasons for that. 1- Nikkor AF-S 35mm 1.8G - gives a more saturated and vibrant color, better contrast in the same shooting conditions. 2 - Nikkor AF-S 35mm 1.8G is sharper wide open, especially at the edge of the frame. well, and one more nuance - shooting facial portraits at 50 mm is not very convenient for me, but for waist portraits I use 35. as a result, Nikkor AF-S 35mm 1.8G is much more convenient and versatile for me personally. Fifty kopecks are for sale)). In no case do I pretend to be the "opinion of last resort" I simply state my observations for potential buyers / users. You can see sample photos in my . Fotki albums. As a conclusion: take a camera with a screwdriver, taking into account your preferences for FR, the price / picture quality is very good.

Pros
  • - Price (I bought it in a well-known online store, with delivery to my city it turned out something like 4) - Aperture - Lightweight and compact
Cons
  • - "nut effect" on light sources or glare behind the depth of field - small backlash of the focusing ring (not critical)
