Review on High-Speed XQD/CFExpress Type B Memory Card Reader: Effortlessly Transfer and Manage Data by Amber Robinson

Broke before I could even use it

I thought I would be smart to buy the same brand of reader to work with my Sony XQD cards but it was the worst of the three I bought. Rocketek's $45 metal XQD reader got hot as a curling iron and transferred SEVERAL files before crashing my Windows machine. Previously, it moved slower than molasses, which moved uphill. The $20 plastic Rocketek XQD/SD reader was a treasure trove. This Sony was plastic, $100, inexplicably large, and having installed it once when I first opened it a month ago, it now fails to fully install, even after properly ejecting it one last time. So now it's a paperweight. I read that it gets very hot so maybe for the best it didn't work with my Sony XQD cards.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Mostly good but...
